247 - The Attorney General's Office (PGR) will send representatives to Rio de Janeiro, Curitiba, and São Paulo in the coming days to collect data from investigations by the local Lava Jato task forces. reporter It's from the Folha de S.Paulo newspaper.
The measure, revealed this Friday (10), will be taken based on the decision this Thursday (9) by the president of the STF (Supreme Federal Court), Dias Toffoli, who ordered the immediate sharing of information by the investigation groups.
According to the report, they will visit the task forces that are part of the Secretariat of Expertise, Research and Analysis (SPPEA) — an agency linked to the office of the Attorney General, Augusto Aras, whose function is to provide the different instances of the MPF (Federal Public Prosecutor's Office) with technological solutions for investigations.
One of the purposes of the Attorney General's Office, once the data is obtained, is to investigate whether the task forces use their own information systems, disconnected from the secretariat and therefore inaccessible to the rest of the agency.
The report also adds that another point to be analyzed, which could lead to disciplinary action, is whether the prosecutors at the first instance investigated possible wrongdoing by authorities with special jurisdiction before the Supreme Court, usurping the competence of the Attorney General's Office—the only body that can conduct criminal investigations of this nature, with the authorization of the court.
