247 - President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva sent a message this Tuesday (9) to the President of the United States, Donald Trump, whose administration decided, once again, to threaten Brazil, including through a military intervention.

Earlier, the White House stated that it is prepared to employ all available instruments—including economic and military power—to respond to violations of freedom of expression anywhere in the world. The statement comes amid pressure from the administration of US President Donald Trump against the Brazilian Supreme Court (STF) regarding the trial of his ally Jair Bolsonaro, accused of leading a coup plot.

According to Lula, Brazilians should not bow their heads in the face of threats. He also reaffirmed that Brazil is a country with full sovereignty.

"This country needs to go through this historic moment with its head held high, we are sovereign, independent, we don't need anyone interfering here," said Lula at an official event in Manaus, Amazonas.

The president was in the Amazonian capital to launch the "Union with Municipalities for the Reduction of Deforestation and Forest Fires Program" at the event.

"We own our land," the president stressed, speaking in the symbolic region coveted by the U.S. for critical minerals.

In this regard, President Lula stated that, even in the face of excessive environmentalist pressure, "the Amazon is not a sanctuary. It must be exploited correctly and responsibly, taking what can be taken and replenishing what can be replenished, ensuring that it continues to be this important element for the planet's survival."
