Amaral: "Marina assured me that she has not yet decided to support Aécio."

The president of the PSB party, Roberto Amaral, criticized party members who have already declared their support for the PSDB candidate and stated that this stance does not strengthen the party; "Marina called me and said that the press reports that she had already defined her position were untrue. She assured me that she has not decided to support Aécio," he said.

SÃO PAULO – In response to rumors that Marina Silva (PSB), who came in third place in the presidential election, had decided to support Aécio Neves (PSDB) in the second round, Roberto Amaral, national president of the PSB, was emphatic: "Nothing is decided."

According to Amaral, neither Marina nor the party has made a final decision on who to support in the second round.

"Marina called me and said that the press reports that she had already decided on her position were untrue. She assured me that she had not decided to support Aécio," explained the president of the PSB. "She will meet with the Rede Commission tonight," he added.

Furthermore, Amaral informed that the PSB's national executive committee will meet tomorrow at 14 PM to define its support.

Asked about the fact that some party members had already stated they would support Aécio's candidacy, the president of the PSB party didn't hold back his criticism. "Everyone acts in the way they deem appropriate. This doesn't strengthen the party, it only creates the impression of a disunity that doesn't exist," he concluded.
