247 - The registration of former President Lula's candidacy for the presidency of the Republic has been confirmed. A photo of the registration with the Superior Electoral Court, which mobilized tens of thousands of demonstrators in Brasília, was posted on Lula's social media at 17:21 PM this Wednesday, the 15th.

The following individuals went to the TSE (Superior Electoral Court) to register: the president of the PT (Workers' Party), Senator Gleisi Hoffmann; former president Dilma Rousseff; former mayor Fernando Haddad; and congresswoman Manuela D'Avila, who withdrew her candidacy for president from the PCdoB (Communist Party of Brazil) to become vice-president on the PT ticket after the TSE judges Lula's candidacy.

Haddad announced that he will "tour the country" to bring Lula's message to voters. "We want him [Lula] to be present at the debates. We want the legislation to authorize this from today onwards. Article 16 of the Electoral Code is very clear. While the candidacy is sub judice, it enjoys the same prerogatives as any other candidacy," he declared.

Lula is officially a candidate for President of the Republic.

It's official! Lula is the Workers' Party candidate for President of the Republic. Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva's candidacy was officially registered with the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) this Wednesday (August 15th). The registration was made in the arms of the people: thousands of people participated in the Free Lula March, which ended in a large popular rally in Brasília, celebrating Lula's official registration as a candidate.

In the words of Fernando Haddad, vice-presidential candidate on Lula's ticket (a coalition between the PT, PCdoB, and Pros parties) and his spokesperson, "the registration of Lula's candidacy is an act of obedience to the will of the people and the Federal Constitution."

On that date, 152 legal experts delivered a letter defending the Federal Constitution, legality, and Lula's candidacy. National and international support for Lula's candidacy has been growing, and the legal experts are emphatic in stating that Lula has the right to be a candidate, participate in debates, and have his name on the ballot on October 7th.

On the 15th, the former president made a point of sending a message: "it's possible to build a better Brazil and you know it, because we've already experienced it."

It's Lula 2018, to make #BrazilHappyAgain
