Aécio on PSB: I'm not going to "co-opt anyone"
The PSDB presidential candidate denies any intention to take action with the PSB to co-opt sectors that do not support candidate Marina Silva; "I will not take any action with the PSB to co-opt anyone. If, along the way, our proposal sensitizes sectors of the PSB or those linked to the PSB, obviously they are welcome, but it doesn't change anything," he said, while fulfilling his agenda in Rio; regarding economic policy, Aécio Neves said it is a "fallacy" for the government to say that we have full employment in Brazil; "It's not true. The outlook for the future is extremely worrying," he stressed.
247 - Senator Aécio Neves, the PSDB candidate for President, denied this Friday, the 22nd, that he will co-opt support from sectors within the PSB that do not want to support the candidacy of Marina Silva, officially announced this week as the candidate for the presidency in place of Eduardo Campos.
"I have enormous respect for the PSB. I will not take any action within the PSB to co-opt anyone. If, along the way, our proposal resonates with sectors of the PSB or those linked to the PSB, they are obviously welcome, but it doesn't change anything," declared Aécio, in Rio de Janeiro, where he was fulfilling his agenda.
The candidate said he remains "extremely excited" about the campaign. "Our strategy is to present an efficient, meritocratic Brazil, bold in its public policies, with a reduction of this gigantic machine so that the State functions better. That is our proposal. And I think it resonates with the feelings of a large part of the Brazilian population. I remain extremely excited," he said.
Aécio reiterated his criticism of the government's economic policy, stating that the claim of full employment in the country is a "fallacy." "A country that doesn't grow doesn't generate jobs. It's a fallacy for the government to say we have full employment in Brazil; it's not true. The outlook for the future is extremely worrying," he criticized.
