Aécio appeals to the Supreme Court against the decision that removed him from office.

Senator Aécio Neves (PSDB-MG), who has been suspended from office, has appealed to the Supreme Federal Court (STF) requesting the suspension of the effects of the decision by the Court's First Panel that ordered his removal from parliamentary duties. His defense team is requesting that both his removal from the Senate and his nightly house arrest be suspended until the STF concludes another trial, scheduled for next week, which will assess whether it is necessary for the Senate and the Chamber of Deputies to ratify precautionary measures applied against parliamentarians.

247 - Senator Aécio Neves (PSDB-MG), who has been removed from office, has appealed to the Supreme Federal Court (STF) requesting the suspension of the effects of the First Panel's decision that ordered his removal from parliamentary duties. The request made by the senator's defense is that both his removal from the Senate and his nightly house arrest be suspended until the STF concludes another trial, scheduled for next week, which will assess whether it is necessary for the Senate and the Chamber of Deputies to ratify precautionary measures applied against parliamentarians. The PSDB also filed a lawsuit requesting the suspension of the First Panel's decision.

The president of the Senate, Eunício Oliveira (PMDB-CE) said that the plenary voting session, to ratify or not the precautionary measures applied by the STF in the case of Aécio, is still scheduled to take place this Tuesday (2). "I cannot postpone a vote that was carried out through the urgency procedure signed by almost all the leaders and approved by nominal vote, and not by symbolic vote. Now we will wait until tomorrow regarding these measures that were made available to the Supreme Court so that the Supreme Court can express its opinion yes or no," Eunício highlighted.
