247 - Former minister Marina Silva (Rede), a presidential candidate in the 2018 elections, yesterday criticized the Senate's decision to revoke the precautionary measures imposed by the Supreme Federal Court (STF) on Senator Aécio Neves (PSDB-MG).

When questioned during a lecture at King's College London, in the United Kingdom, Marina attacked the union of parties that ensured Aécio's continued presidency, specifically mentioning the PT and PSDB.

"Unfortunately, we had a decision in which Congress has the final say on those investigated in Lava Jato. No one in Brazil can judge them, except for parliamentarians, who have privileged jurisdiction. Aécio received a privileged pardon," he said.

Marina also defended her party's stance, Rede, in the vote regarding Aécio. "It was my party that voted for his removal from office and filed a lawsuit to ensure the vote was transparent, and that no one would hide to form spurious alliances," she said.
