247 - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed on Friday (24) that he invited his Brazilian counterpart, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, to visit Ukraine.

Responding to a question from an SBT journalist, Zelensky said that he "appreciates" the position adopted by Brazil in defending the "territorial integrity and sovereignty" of the Eastern European country.

In his statements, he also asked Lula to support "a platform for dialogue with Latin America," a region that, in general, has been against supplying weapons to Kiev, but has been under intense pressure from the West to join the NATO war.

"I invited President Lula to come to Ukraine. I am really looking forward to meeting with him. I would like him to help me with a platform for dialogue with Latin America. I am very interested in this. And I really appreciate some of the steps Brazil has taken to support our territorial integrity and sovereignty. This is very important for us, especially now. I am just waiting for our meeting. Because eye to eye, face to face, I will make myself understood more easily. And I believe Ukraine will make itself understood better," said Zelensky.
