Xi Jinping advocates for a "global strategic partnership" in a meeting with Alberto Fernández.

The Chinese president hopes that China and Argentina will strengthen their trade relations.

China Radio International Chinese President Xi Jinping met with Argentine President Alberto Fernández on Tuesday (15) in Bali, Indonesia, as part of the agendas of the 17th G20 Summit.

Xi Jinping stressed that China and Argentina need to promote their comprehensive strategic partnership to achieve new results. The Chinese president hopes that the two countries can strengthen the exchange of experiences in governance, as well as collaborate to pursue development paths that correspond to each country's national realities, the expectations of their people, and the demands of the era, while also supporting each other in defending sovereignty, security, and development interests.

Xi Jinping hopes to work together with Argentina to build the China-Latin America Forum and for close collaboration on multilateral platforms, in order to implement the Global Development and Global Security Initiative and build a community of shared future for mankind.

Fernández stated that Argentina will always be a friend and sister to China and will always stand by the country in defending its sovereignty and territorial integrity. The Argentine president hopes to boost cooperation with the Chinese in the economic, commercial, and financial areas, as well as in building the Belt and Road Initiative. Fernández also declared that he intends to strengthen collaborations with the Eastern country within multilateral frameworks and actively promote the progress of Sino-Latin American ties.
