Venezuela condemns the expulsion of its diplomats and says Bolsonaro made Brazil the epicenter of the coronavirus in Latin America.

The Venezuelan government rejected the Brazilian government's decision to expel 34 Venezuelan diplomatic staff from Brazil. The statement, in addition to criticizing the Brazilian government's "negative" handling of COVID-19, also warns that Bolsonaro is violating international treaties.

247 - In an official statement published this Thursday (30), the Venezuelan government rejected the decision of the Brazilian governmentThe order mandated that the 34 Venezuelan diplomatic staff must leave their posts and return to Venezuela. The Maduro government stated that "the Venezuelan diplomatic and consular personnel in Brazil will not abandon their duties under pretexts outside of international law." 

The Venezuelan government denounces that “the undue pressure exerted by the Brazilian government forced the premature departure of Venezuelan diplomatic and consular personnel.” With the expulsion of the Venezuelan diplomatic corps, “Bolsonaro now intends to add negligence to the Venezuelan community in Brazil,” denounces Nicolás Maduro's diplomatic corps.

The statement also classifies Bolsonaro's attitudes in dealing with Covid-19 as "negative" and says that this stance places Brazil today as the epicenter of the virus's spread in Latin America.
