Venezuela confirms arrival of US delegation to the country and speaks of "progress in diplomatic dialogue"

247 -Venezuela has confirmed the progress of diplomatic dialogue with the United States by announcing the opening of an "exploratory process of a diplomatic nature" between the two countries, with the aim of re-establishing diplomatic missions and addressing issues considered to be of mutual interest.
The information is contained in an official statement, released this Friday (9), in which Caracas states that the initiative takes place “in strict adherence to the principles of national sovereignty and Bolivarian Diplomacy of Peace” and within the framework of international law.
According to the text, the dialogue seeks "the re-establishment of diplomatic missions in both countries," as well as allowing the parties to "address a work agenda of mutual interest," including the consequences of recent events classified by the Venezuelan government as international aggression.
Within this process, the statement informs that “a delegation of diplomatic officials from the United States Department of State is arriving in the country,” responsible for carrying out “technical and logistical assessments inherent to the diplomatic function.” Conversely, the government announced that “a delegation of Venezuelan diplomats will be sent to the United States to carry out the corresponding work.”
According to the official statement, acting president Delcy Rodríguez reiterated that Venezuela will confront the current situation "through diplomatic means," maintaining that "Bolivarian Diplomacy for Peace is the legitimate path for the defense of sovereignty, the reestablishment of international law, and the preservation of peace."
