Ukraine says power has been restored to the Chernobyl nuclear power plant.
Ukraine had warned of a risk of radiation leakage if a high-voltage power line to the plant was not repaired.
Reuters - Ukraine's Atomic Energy Ministry said on Sunday that power has been restored to the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, meaning that cooling systems will function normally and will not have to use backup power.
The ministry made the announcement in an online post. Ukraine had already warned of an increased risk of radiation leaks if a high-voltage power line to the plant was not repaired. It had been damaged in combat.
