Türkiye accuses the US of trying to create a 'terrorist state' along its borders.
Turkey's Interior Minister stated that his country has been fighting this situation for "more than 40 years."
Sputnik - Turkey's Interior Minister, Suleyman Soylu, accused the US of trying to create a "terrorist state" near its borders.
The statement was made in relation to Washington's support for the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) and the Democratic Union Party (PYD), which Ankara considers terrorist organizations.
"America wants to establish a terrorist state on our doorstep," the minister stated in an interview with CNN.
He further emphasized that Turkey has been fighting against this situation for "more than 40 years," and that it has already carried out four major operations in Syria and Iraq to prevent the establishment of a terrorist state.
"This risk will not disappear until the US leaves. What did they do in Afghanistan? If I were American, I would be furious about that. People hanging from the wheels of airplanes. It's not easy for Iraq and Syria to recover. There are permanent costs," he stated.
