Trump: Trade tariffs are making the U.S. "great and rich again"

On Wednesday (30), the Republican signed a decree that increases the tariff on Brazilian products to 50%.

247 - US President Donald Trump again defended the tariffs imposed on several countries, including Brazil. According to him, these measures are strengthening the American economy. "The tariffs are making the United States great and rich again," he wrote on his social network Truth Social, this Thursday (31), the day before the deadline for other countries to negotiate trade agreements with Washington.

In the same publication, Trump stated that "a year ago, the United States was a dead country" and that now it is "the most attractive in the world," referring to the economic impact of protectionist decisions.

On Wednesday (30), the Republican signed a decree that increases the tariff on Brazilian products to 50%, with exceptions for strategic sectors such as orange juice, oil, vehicles and civil aircraft. (With information from AFP).
