Cuba Discussion - Cuba will be unable to purchase ventilators from several of its usual suppliers when two manufacturers of this medical equipment are acquired by a US company. These devices are key elements in the care of people seriously ill and critically ill with COVID-19.

The company Medicuba, an export and import entity of the Ministry of Public Health, received notification that the manufacturers IMT Medial AG and Acutronic had been acquired by the American company Vyaire Medical Inc., based in Illinois, and therefore informed that "the corporate guideline we have today is to suspend any commercial relationship with Medicuba".

The accusation was made on his Twitter account by the Director-General for Latin America and the Caribbean of the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Minrex), Eugenio Martínez Enríquez.

While the UN and other voices around the world call for cooperation and solidarity in these times of pandemic, the United States government persists in its genocidal blockade against Cuba and other nations. The world's greatest power denies the right to life to a small, struggling city that today offers solidarity aid to healthcare personnel in 59 countries worldwide and has already sent nearly two dozen medical assistance brigades to the same number of countries that need healthcare personnel to face the onslaught of COVID-19.
