Sputnik Brazil - Former US President Donald Trump called on Tuesday (8) for voters to protest the "alarming situation" regarding absentee ballots in the United States during the midterm elections.

"The situation at the polls in Detroit is very bad. People are showing up to vote only to hear 'sorry, you already voted.' This is happening in large numbers, also in other places. Protest, Protest, Protest!", Trump wrote on his social media.

The former US president said that reports from the American state of Arizona show that the voting machines are not functioning properly in predominantly Republican areas.

"Could this be true when the vast majority of Republicans waited until today to vote? Here we go again? The people won't put up with this!" he said.

Trump noted that Pennsylvania announced it could take days to determine the winners in the midterm elections.

He also noted that reports indicate approximately 20% of electronic voting machines in Maricopa County, Arizona, are not counting votes correctly, primarily in Republican-majority areas.

"Kari Lake, Blake Masters, and everyone else are being greatly harmed by this disaster. We cannot let this happen again!!! I believe Attorney General Mark Brnovich is on the case, great moment. He has the chance to be the greatest hero of them all, and at the same time save our country from this cancer from within!!!" Trump posted.
