247 - United States authorities will paint the wall on the border with Mexico black so that it heats up in the sun and thus makes it more difficult for migrants to try to climb it, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said, according to RIA Novosti on Wednesday (20).
“This is specifically at the request of [US President Donald Trump], who understands that, with the high temperatures here, when something is painted black it gets even hotter, making it even more difficult for people to climb,” Noem added.

In a move with segregationist undertones, the construction of the wall on the border between the United States and Mexico was one of Donald Trump's main campaign promises in 2016.
In March, US Vice President JD Vance stated that the project will be completed by the end of Trump's second term in 2029.
