247 - US President Donald Trump on Tuesday (13) escalated his rhetoric against Iran by posting a message on social media encouraging Iranian protesters to intensify their protests and 'take control of the country's institutions'. The statement comes amid escalating political, diplomatic and military tensions between Washington and Tehran, marked by security warnings, exchanges of accusations and mobilizations in the streets of Iran.

In a post published this Tuesday (13), Trump wrote: “Iranian patriots, keep protesting – take control of your institutions! Remember the names of the murderers and abusers. They will pay a high price. I have canceled all meetings with Iranian officials until the senseless killing of protesters stops. Help is on the way. MIGA!”. The message was published by the US president himself and quickly resonated in the context of escalating tensions between the two countries. The acronym “MIGA” stands for Make Iran Great Again"Make Iran Great Again," an English expression that can be translated as "Make Iran Great Again," is an adaptation of the political slogan used by Trump in previous campaigns, now provocatively applied to the Iranian reality.

Donald Trump's statements come a day after the Iranian government publicly rejected military threats made by Washington. Meanwhile, the US administration issued a security alert recommending that US citizens leave Iran immediately. The statement was released on Tuesday (13) by the US Virtual Embassy in Iran, arguing that protests in the country are escalating, with reports of arrests and episodes of violence.

The warning comes in an environment of worsening diplomatic and political relations, in which Iran claims to be prepared for any initiative by Donald Trump. The climate of hostility is also symbolically manifested on the streets of Tehran. In the Iranian capital, a billboard displaying coffins covered with flags of the United States and Israel was seen on Monday (12), highlighting the degree of tension that accompanies the current wave of protests and the hardening of the rhetorical confrontation between the countries.

On the same day, the Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi, accused the United States and the Israeli regime of fomenting violent disturbances in Iranian territory. According to him, these actions were intended to compensate for the defeat suffered in the so-called 12-day war, fought in June 2025. The statements were made in a message released this Tuesday (13), according to the Iranian agency Tasnim News.

In the note, Mousavi praised the Iranian population for “demonstrating their greatness” by participating in large national demonstrations held on Monday (12), which, according to the military command, aimed to condemn riots and acts of violence recorded in several cities. According to the major general, the acts reinforced the commitment of Iranian society to the Islamic Revolution and to the defense of national order.

The commander of the Armed Forces also stated that Daesh (ISIS) terrorists, allegedly recruited by the Zionist regime and the United States and organized by the Mossad and CIA intelligence agencies, had committed serious crimes against the Iranian people. According to Mousavi, these groups “vandalized public and private property and killed security forces” during recent episodes of instability, deepening the internal and external tension faced by the country.
