Washington says Donald Trump's letter is part of a process of seeking dialogue with world leaders on the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.

247 - US President Donald Trump sent a letter to North Korean leader Kim Jong-un proposing an alliance between the two countries in the fight against the coronavirus.

Kim Jong-un's sister, Kim Yo-jong, revealed that Trump had sent the letter and stated that it was "an appropriate action on the part of the President of the United States, in his efforts to maintain the good relations he had with our leader."

"In it, Trump explained his plan to enhance relations between the two countries and expressed his intention to cooperate in combating the coronavirus epidemic" and "his willingness to maintain close contact with the leader in the future," he added.
