247 - New York federal prosecutor Cyrus Vance Jr. said on Monday (3) that he is investigating US President Donald Trump and the president's company, Mazars USA, for possible bank and insurance fraud.

Prosecution reports indicate that Trump may have unlawfully inflated his net worth and the value of his properties to creditors and insurers.

A subpoena ordering Trump to release eight years of his personal and corporate tax returns had already been issued, but the president asked a judge to declare the subpoena invalid. According to Trump, the subpoena was "wildly excessive."
