Trump and Netanyahu will meet next week to strengthen the alliance between imperialism and Zionism.
The head of the Zionist and genocidal government will be received at the White House.
247 - US President Donald Trump has invited Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to a meeting at the White House next week, confirming Washington's unconditional alignment with Israel's genocidal government. Netanyahu's office announced that the meeting will take place on Tuesday, February 4, marking the first official visit by a foreign leader to the Trump administration in its second term, reports the Times of Israel.
The US administration, however, has not yet confirmed the exact date, but reiterated that the meeting will take place early next week. In a letter sent to Netanyahu, Trump stressed that the meeting will serve to discuss "peace in Israel and with its neighbors," as well as "efforts to combat our shared adversaries." In practice, the meeting is expected to reinforce Washington's complicity with Israeli aggression against Palestinians and military attacks in the region.
Among the main topics on the agenda is the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas, mediated by the US, Egypt, and Qatar. Despite pressure to complete the three-phase plan, Netanyahu faces strong opposition from the far-right within his coalition, which demands a resumption of the war after the end of the first 42-day phase.
According to Israeli broadcaster Channel 13, the White House intends to convince Netanyahu to accept a definitive ceasefire with a series of incentives. Among the proposals are support for Israel's decision to sever ties with the UN humanitarian agency for Palestinians, the authorization of deliveries of heavy bombs, the cancellation of sanctions against violent Israeli settlers, and even the proposal to transfer Palestinians from the Gaza Strip to other countries.
Washington also wants to pressure the International Criminal Court (ICC) to drop an arrest warrant against Netanyahu for war crimes committed in Gaza. However, Democrats in the Senate have blocked the advancement of legislation that would have imposed sanctions against the ICC.
The state broadcaster Kan revealed that Netanyahu will also seek Trump's approval to continue the war against Hamas and coordinate with Washington on other regional issues, such as hostilities against Iran, tensions with Lebanon, and normalization with Saudi Arabia. The Trump administration is trying to advance a normalization agreement between Israel and Riyadh, further strengthening its influence in the region.
Trump's envoy to the Middle East, Steven Witkoff, has already begun strategic meetings, traveling from Saudi Arabia to Israel, where he met with Netanyahu and the Minister of Strategic Affairs, Ron Dermer. Witkoff also expressed interest in visiting Gaza to oversee the implementation of the ceasefire agreement and negotiate a second phase.
Meanwhile, the Axios website reported that Witkoff met in Saudi Arabia with Hussein al-Sheikh, one of the main advisors to the Palestinian Authority president, Mahmoud Abbas. The meeting was reportedly organized by the Saudi government, which is trying to mediate Washington's pressure on Palestine.
