Trump says he needs to "take a look" at Elon Musk's deportation from the US.
US President accuses businessman of relying on public subsidies and says he could be investigated by the agency he once headed.
247 - US President Donald Trump has once again escalated his rhetoric against billionaire Elon Musk, suggesting that the South African businessman could be deported. When asked if he was considering expelling Musk from the country, Trump replied: “I don’t know. We’ll have to look into it.” (Source: [Source Name]) RT.
In addition to the threat of deportation, the president indicated that Musk could be targeted by the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), a federal agency that the billionaire himself headed until the end of May. "Maybe we'll have to put DOGE after Elon. You know what DOGE is? DOGE is the monster that might have to come back and devour Elon," he stated.
The statements are part of an escalating tension between Trump and Musk. The clash intensified after the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX harshly criticized the government's bill, known as One Big Beautiful Bill Actwhich proposes, among other measures, ending incentives for "green" technologies.
"Elon probably receives more subsidies than any other human being in history, by far, and without subsidies, he would probably have to shut down his businesses and go back to South Africa," Trump declared.
"Rocket and satellite launches and the production of electric vehicles would end, and our country would save a fortune. Perhaps we should have the DOGE investigate this thoroughly. There is a lot of money that could be saved!" he concluded.
Trump also accused Musk of acting out of self-interest by opposing the project: "He's upset about losing his electric vehicle mandate, but he has much more to lose than that."
Musk's response came via social media. Without directly mentioning Trump, he criticized the bill and the political landscape in Washington. "It's obvious, from the insane spending of this bill that raises the debt ceiling to a record five trillion dollars, that we live in a one-party state: the Porky Pig Party!", he wrote.
Musk had previously stated that the US lives under a "one-party regime" and advocated for the creation of a new political force that better represents the interests of the population.
