247 - US President Donald Trump said the world will know within the next 24 hours whether the Hamas Resistance Movement will accept what he called the “final proposal” for a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas in the Gaza Strip, Reuters reported on Friday (4).

Trump's statement was made during engagements at the White House, where he received the foreign ministers of Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo. The US president also confirmed that he discussed with Saudi Arabia the possible expansion of the so-called Abraham Accords, an initiative to normalize diplomatic relations between Israel and Arab countries launched during his first term.

Trump stated that Israel has already accepted the necessary conditions to formalize a 60-day ceasefire with Hamas, during which the parties would attempt to end the war. When questioned about Hamas's position, the president responded succinctly: "We'll see what happens, we'll know in the next 24 hours."

According to a source close to Hamas, as reported by ReutersThe Palestinian movement is demanding concrete guarantees that the ceasefire proposal, supported by Washington, will effectively lead to an end to the Israeli military offensive in Gaza. Israeli officials have stated that the details of the potential agreement are still being negotiated.

While negotiations progress behind the scenes, the conflict continues with episodes of violence. Gaza authorities reported that dozens of Palestinians died in...

Expansion of the Abraham Accords

In addition to ceasefire negotiations, Trump is working to expand the Abraham Accords, normalization treaties between Israel and Arab countries that marked his first term in office.

The president confirmed that this was one of the topics discussed in a meeting at the White House with the Saudi Arabian Defense Minister, Prince Khalid bin Salman. "It's one of the things we talked about," Trump said. "I think a lot of people are going to join the Abraham Accords," he added, attributing this potential adherence to the weakening of Iran after recent joint attacks by the United States and Israel.

According to the website AxiosFollowing his meeting with Trump, the Saudi prince reportedly spoke by phone with Abdolrahim Mousavi, Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces. Although the details of this conversation have not been officially released, the gesture indicates Saudi Arabia's parallel diplomatic efforts to maintain channels of dialogue with Tehran.

Trump's meeting with the Saudi official precedes the official visit of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to Washington, scheduled for next week, where he is expected to discuss with Trump both the ceasefire in Gaza and the regional strategy involving Iran, Saudi Arabia, and other Middle Eastern countries.
