Temer congratulates the president-elect of Peru.

Interim President Michel Temer called Peru's president-elect, Pedro Kuczynski, to congratulate him on his election victory. Kuczynski, from the Peruanos por el Kambio coalition, was elected in the second round with 50,12% of the vote; his opponent, Keiko Fujimori, from the Fuerza Popular coalition, obtained 49,88% of the valid votes.

Kuczynski, from the Peruanos por el Kambio coalition, was elected in the second round with 50,12% of the votes. His opponent, Keiko Fujimori, from the Fuerza Popular coalition, obtained 49,88% of the votes.

The election results were released yesterday (9), four days after the second round was held, with the totalization of ballots that arrived from abroad.

The electoral process, which took place on June 5th, received recognition and monitoring from missions of various organizations already operating in the country, such as the Organization of American States (OAS), the European Union, and the Union of South American Nations (UNASUR).

As soon as he learned of the result, the president-elect thanked those who voted for him and called on all Peruvians to "work together for the future of Peru."
