'I spoke with the vice-president (of the federation) and offered my resignation to the directors because we have been navigating very troubled waters all this time. Everything has been politicized, and I am the coach of a national team representing the entire country,'" said Dudamel.
Despite being fired, Dudamel announced that he will lead the team in Monday’s (25) friendly against the Catalan national team, “out of respect”.
