247 - After the historic victory of the Venezuelan national football team this Friday (22) over Argentina, by 3-1, with Lionel Messi on the field, Rafael Dudamel, coach of Venezuela, resigned due to the visit of a representative of Juan Guaidó, the self-proclaimed interim president of the country, reports the State St. Paul.

"Hours before the match, the team received a visit from Antonio Ecarri, Juan Guaidó's representative in Spain. Later, Ecarri posted a photo of the meeting on social media. 'I spoke with the vice-president (of the federation) and offered my resignation to the directors because we have been navigating very troubled waters all this time. Everything has been politicized, and I am the coach of a national team representing the entire country,'" said Dudamel.

Despite being fired, Dudamel announced that he will lead the team in Monday’s (25) friendly against the Catalan national team, “out of respect”.
