Death toll rises to 35 at Ukrainian base hit by Russian missiles.

247, with agencies– The attack by Russian forces on a military installation in the Lviv region of western Ukraine this morning left at least 35 dead and 134 wounded. Initially, local authorities reported that nine people had died after missiles hit the International Peacekeeping and Security Center in the city of Yavoriv, ​​about 10 km from the Polish border and 60 km from the center of Lviv.

The military base covers an area of ​​approximately 390 square kilometers (151 square miles) and can accommodate up to 1.790 people, although it is unknown how many people were on site. This occurred one day after the Russian government threatened to attack Western arms shipments to Ukraine. The site is also considered a drop-off point for Western weapons sent by NATO countries to Ukraine.
