Syria reaffirms support for an independent Palestinian state.

Syrian Deputy Foreign Minister and Refugees, Faysal Mekdad, said that his country will continue to support the Palestinian people in their struggle to recover their legitimate and inalienable historical rights; the statements were made during a meeting on Tuesday (19) with Abbas Zaki, a member of the Central Committee of the Palestinian National Liberation Movement Fatah, responsible for relations with China.

The statements were made during a meeting on Tuesday (19) with Abbas Zaki, a member of the Central Committee of the Palestinian National Liberation Movement Fatah, responsible for relations with China.

Mekdad stated that Syria proclaims its unrestricted support for self-determination and the establishment of Palestine as an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.

In turn, Zaki expressed that the victories of the Syrian Arab Army will determine the future of the region, and stressed that this Arab nation has become a 'difficult number' in the equation of terrorists and their sponsors.
