A report from the newspaper O Estado de S. Paulo It highlights that “politicians, civil rights activists, athletes and actors attended the Fountain Praise church, which received the golden casket for the final public farewell ceremony for Floyd, whose death at age 46 sparked the largest mobilizations in the United States since the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr. in 1968.
The report also states that "Floyd's family, who chose to wear white for the ceremony, entered the church wearing masks and accompanied by Reverend Al Sharpton, a civil rights activist in charge of the main religious sermon. The venue was limited to 500 people in order to ensure greater social distancing due to the coronavirus."
