Without presenting evidence, Biden says he is convinced that Putin will invade Ukraine.

"At this moment, I am convinced that Putin has made a decision," he said.

WASHINGTON, TASS – The US government says Russian President Vladimir Putin has made the decision to invade Ukraine, US President Joe Biden confirmed on Thursday.

When asked directly if he was certain Putin intended to invade Ukraine, Biden answered affirmatively.

The reporters then asked if this meant Washington was cutting off its diplomatic interaction with Moscow in Ukraine.

"No," Biden replied. "Until he [invades Ukraine], diplomacy is always a possibility," Biden stressed.

When asked why he believes Putin is considering this course of action, Biden replied, "We have significant intelligence capabilities."

During the same speech, Biden stated that Putin has already made the decision to invade Ukraine.

"At this moment, I am convinced that [Putin] has made a decision," he said.

US forces in Ukraine

The U.S. has no intention of sending forces to Ukraine, but will protect NATO territory along with allies, Biden said.

"We will not send troops to fight in Ukraine, but we will continue to support the Ukrainian people," he said.

"The U.S. and our allies are ready to defend every inch of our territory from any threat to our collective security," he added.

He noted that last year Ukraine received a record $650 million in aid, which included Javelin anti-tank missiles and $500 million in humanitarian and economic assistance.
