Russia warns neo-Nazis who torture its soldiers: 'We will find them and they will pay'
According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, "they are repeating the same methods as the German Nazis and their henchmen."
Sputnik - The Ukrainian neo-Nazis who torture Russian prisoners will be identified and will pay for their war crimes, the Russian Defense Ministry said.
Conversely, soldiers who decide to lay down their arms "will be treated with respect and will return to their families," according to Major General Igor Konashenkov, an official representative of the ministry.
He stated that the Russian Ministry of Defense already knows "what the Ukrainian Nazis do with the few Russian soldiers they manage to capture."
According to the major general, "they are repeating the same methods as the German Nazis and their henchmen during the Great Patriotic War [part of World War II, limited to the conflicts between the Soviet Union and Nazi Germany and its allies]."
"I want to emphasize that we have captured and identified all the faces, voices, phone numbers, coordinates, IP addresses, and correspondence of all the Ukrainian Nazis involved in the torture of our comrades," Konashenkov said.
The spokesman added that the warning "also applies to the leaders of the Kiev government" who encourage the torture of Russian soldiers, "in violation of the Convention on the Treatment of Prisoners of War".
"We will find them and, inevitably, they will pay," he said.
Regarding Ukrainian prisoners of war, the major general stated that "we will continue to treat all members of the Ukrainian Armed Forces with respect." "We understand that they have sworn an oath to the people of Ukraine," he said.
Konashenkov asserted that the number of deaths among Russian soldiers is "many times lower" than that of Ukrainian and ultranationalist soldiers.
According to the major general, Ukrainian soldiers have begun the widespread use of phosphorus munitions, which are prohibited by the Third Protocol of the United Nations Convention on Conventional Weapons.
