247 - Rescue teams have had to suspend operations for the third consecutive day to save 26-year-old Brazilian Juliana Marins, who remains trapped in a difficult-to-access area of the Rinjani volcano on Lombok Island, Indonesia. The young woman, who has been missing since Friday (21), slipped and fell during a mountain hike, becoming isolated in a remote location and unable to move. This information comes from... UOL .

According to the family, the search teams managed to descend about 250 meters to the position where Juliana was located again, but they are still approximately 350 meters away from the Brazilian woman. However, weather conditions deteriorated throughout the afternoon of this Monday (22), forcing the temporary suspension of the operation around 16 pm local time (5 am Brasília time). Despite the interruption, a support team will remain at the point where the searches stopped to try to resume the rescue at dawn, weather permitting. Due to the terrain and lack of visibility, it is impossible to continue during the night.

Despite the seriousness of the case, Rinjani National Park continues to operate normally, and tourists are still hiking in the area where the young woman fell. Juliana has been without water, food, or adequate shelter since the accident. She was wearing only jeans, a t-shirt, gloves, and sneakers, and, according to family reports, she was without a coat and without her glasses, which further aggravates her situation, as she is nearsighted.

The Brazilian Foreign Ministry (Itamaraty) reported that it is closely monitoring the case and that officials from the Brazilian embassy in Indonesia are providing support and monitoring the rescue efforts. In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed that local authorities "at the highest level" have been mobilized to reinforce the search teams.

Juliana, who works in advertising, had been in Asia since the end of February, backpacking through countries such as the Philippines, Vietnam, and Thailand, before heading to Indonesia. The trip was organized by a travel agency, which is now the target of criticism from the family. According to the young woman's sister, Mariana Marins, the company has been providing conflicting information since the beginning of the incident. "The travel agency that took her kept lying the whole time, saying that the rescue had arrived, and nothing had arrived at all," denounces Mariana, who is following the situation from Brazil. The accident occurred on Friday night when Juliana slipped on a section of the trail and fell about 300 meters below the main path. She was left weak and unable to move. About three hours later, a group of Spanish tourists found the Brazilian and tried to call for help. The Spaniards contacted the young woman's family and friends through social media and sent photos and videos showing Juliana's condition.

The drama worsened even further when thick fog and high humidity hit the region, causing Juliana to slip even further down the mountainside. The extremely vulnerable situation generated outrage within the family. "It would be absurd if she died for lack of help," lamented Mariana. While the rescue efforts are stalled, concern is growing for the young woman's health, who has already faced four days without food and under adverse weather conditions. The search is expected to resume as soon as weather conditions permit.
