Putin praises Argentina as one of Russia's main partners in Latin America.

TASS - Argentina is one of Russia's main partners in Latin America, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a press conference after talks with his Argentine counterpart Alberto Fernandez on Thursday (3).

"I would like to emphasize that Argentina is one of Russia's main partners in Latin America. For more than 150 years, our countries have maintained good and friendly relations based on equality, respect, and concern for each other's interests," Putin said.

According to him, Russia and Argentina seek to strengthen their close and mutually beneficial cooperation in every possible way and to find new areas of collaboration.

The Russian leader paid special attention to the fruitful cooperation between the two countries in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic. He noted that Argentina was the first country in the Western Hemisphere to approve Russia's Sputnik V vaccine.

In short, in Putin's words, the parties thoroughly discussed the full range of bilateral issues in their talks, which took place in a constructive atmosphere. They substantially considered potential areas where it would be possible to promote a comprehensive strategic partnership. Furthermore, according to the Russian president, he and Fernandez exchanged views on some pressing international and regional issues.
