CAIRO, July 8 (Reuters) - Egypt's new president, Mohamed Morsi, decreed on Sunday that the Islamist-led parliament must reconvene until a new parliament is elected, apparently reversing a decision made by the generals who had been ruling the country on an interim basis, based on a court ruling.

"President Mohamed Morsi has ordered the resumption of sessions of the elected Parliament," said a presidential statement read by Morsi's advisor, Yasser Ali.

"An early parliamentary election will be held within 60 days after a new Constitution is approved by the nation," Ali said.

The Supreme Constitutional Court ruled that the House of Representatives should be dissolved last month after finding a flaw in the electoral process. The generals who governed Egypt on an interim basis until Morsi took power on June 30 implemented the court decision and assumed legislative powers.
