Ukrainian President receives standing ovation in the English Parliament.
“Innocent people are being bombed. This is an attack against all of us. Russian terror is against the whole world,” Zelensky stated.
Reuters with 247 - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky received a standing ovation on Tuesday (8) from members of the British House of Commons at the beginning and end of a speech delivered via video conference.
In a live online address, Zelensky stated that since the beginning of the war, the Ukrainian people have not slept and have been fighting against Russia's intervention. "It is a war that we did not start and that we did not want," he said.
"Our army showed who we were. We saw people being taken captive. We continued and maintained our humanity even after the attacks against us," added the Ukrainian president.
According to Zelensky, Russia's operation in Ukraine threatens the entire planet. "Innocent people are being bombed. This is an attack against all of us. Russian terror is against the whole world," he stated. The Ukrainian president again complained about the lack of an air exclusion zone over Ukraine, a term used in military tactics to describe the no-fly zone.
