China Radio International (CRI) - On December 8, President Xi Jinping published a signed article in the Saudi newspaper Al Riyadh, on the occasion of his arrival in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, to participate in the China-Arab States Summit and the China-Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Summit, and to pay a state visit to Saudi Arabia.
In the article, Xi Jinping pointed out that Arab nations are important developing countries and a significant force in upholding international justice. Over the past 10 years, Sino-Arab relations have entered a new era with a series of remarkable achievements in various fields. China and Arab countries have collectively established strategic partnerships for comprehensive cooperation and future-oriented common development. Arab countries firmly support the One China principle and assist the country in safeguarding its core interests. Following the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, China and Arab countries worked together to support each other and conducted efficient cooperation in vaccine research and use, joint epidemic prevention and control, and experience sharing, setting an example of solidarity in the fight against the pandemic.
Both China and the Arab countries face the historic tasks of revitalizing their nations and accelerating their development. Under these new circumstances, China will work together with the Arab countries to inherit the spirit of friendship and build a Sino-Arab community with a shared future in the new era.
For a long time, relations between China and the GCC countries have maintained healthy and stable development, and cooperation in various fields has been extensive, profound, and fruitful. Looking to the future, China will take the establishment and strengthening of the strategic partnership with the GCC countries as an opportunity to consolidate traditional friendship and deepen mutual trust. It will also continue to firmly support the GCC countries in safeguarding their sovereignty, independence, security, and stability, as well as in accelerating integration and achieving diversified development.
Since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Saudi Arabia, bilateral relations have maintained a stable development, and cooperation between the two countries has advanced even further in the past 10 years. Both sides respect each other's sovereignty and development path, respect each other's history and cultural traditions, mutually support each other in maintaining national security and stability, and carry out close strategic cooperation. China will use this visit to strengthen its comprehensive strategic partnership with Saudi Arabia.
