Poland says it will not send planes to Ukraine to avoid 'military interference'.
Polish President Andrzej Duda made the remarks alongside NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg during a visit to Lask Air Base.
Sputnik Agency - Polish President Andrzej Duda said on Tuesday (1st) that Warsaw will not send military aircraft to Ukraine, as this would be seen as "military interference".
Duda made the statements alongside NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg during a visit to Lask Air Base.
"We are not sending our planes because that would mean military interference in the conflict. NATO is not a party to this conflict," he said.
Stoltenberg reiterated the president's statement and affirmed that the alliance "will not send troops to or move aircraft into Ukrainian airspace."
Also today (1st), after the request yesterday (28) by Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky to establish a no-fly zone over Ukraine, Pentagon spokesman John Kirby said that the request would require discussion within NATO.
However, the spokesperson confirmed that the Biden administration "has made it very clear that US troops will not fight in Ukraine."
