Requesting a recount is 'fraud,' says Trump.
US President-elect Donald Trump called the Green Party's request for a recount in Wisconsin a fraud and said that even his opponent, Hillary Clinton, said the election result should be accepted; "This is a Green Party fraud on an election that has already been hard-fought and whose result should be respected instead of being challenged and abused, which is exactly what (Green Party leader) Jill Stein is doing," Trump said.
WEST PALM BEACH, Florida (Reuters) - US President-elect Donald Trump called the Green Party's request for a recount in Wisconsin fraudulent and said that even his Democratic Party opponent, Hillary Clinton, said the election result should be accepted.
"This is a fraud by the Green Party on an election that has already been hard-fought and whose result should be respected instead of being challenged and abused, which is exactly what (Green Party leader) Jill Stein is doing," Trump said in a statement about the recount.
"This recount is just a way for Jill Stein, who received less than one percent of the total vote and wasn't even on the ballot in many states, to fill her coffers with money, more than she'll even spend on this ridiculous recount," Trump said.
