For Venezuelan socialists, Obrador's victory 'opens the doors to peace'.
In a statement this Monday (2), in Caracas, the vice-president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello, hailed the 'overwhelming' victory of López Obrador in the Mexican presidential elections held on Sunday.
247, with AVN - With the victory of Andrés Manuel López Obrador in the Mexican presidential elections, held on Sunday (July 1st), the doors open for peace and hope, indicated the first vice-president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello.
Cabello pointed out that one of the great tasks of the new leader will be to rescue the history and identity of the Mexican people, who, like all of Latin America, have been victims of the "threats of imperialism."
"The pressure of imperialism failed to prevail. Despite all the campaigns, there was a hopeful outcome for the free peoples of the world. Mexico gave a demonstration of civic duty; the struggle now is to achieve peace for the entire region," he said.
In this regard, he indicated that López Obrador should make efforts to eradicate existing inequality among Mexicans, as well as boost the economy.
The Venezuelan socialist leader emphasized that López Obrador's victory was overwhelming.
