247 - Measures taken by Russian authorities to combat the coronavirus have allowed the country to control the spread of the virus throughout the national territory, said World Health Organization (WHO) representative Melita Vujnovic at a press conference on Thursday (26) in Moscow.

"The measures that Russia has been taking since day one, when the WHO received notification from China that there was a new virus, are excellent," he emphasized.

According to Vuinovich, Russia's strategy on the matter coincides with the recommendations that the WHO gives to all countries in the world, which include epidemiological surveillance and social isolation, among other measures.

"Russia is practically one step ahead of the epidemic," she emphasized. "We expect the current rate of growth of coronavirus infections to remain slow," said the WHO representative.

In the last 24 hours, 182 new cases of coronavirus infection were registered in Russia. This brings the total number of infections in the country to 840. Positive cases have been detected in 56 regions of the country, according to reports. Russia Today.
