Célio Turino also states that the United States has created a completely false image of Tibet.

That's called pedophilia, something practiced by Buddhist monks in Tibet for centuries, only abolished with the arrival of the Chinese Communist Party in 1951. Anti-communism has glamorized Tibet." wrote the Brazilian historian Célio Turino, on their social media.
"The CIA, through Hollywood, created a completely false image of the country before the arrival of the communists. Tibet was a theocracy and was the second-to-last country to abolish slavery, also by order of the communists. Physical punishments were the norm, as were mandatory tributes to temples," he added.
The Dalai Lama, 87, the spiritual leader of Tibetans, apologized on Monday after images showed him asking a boy to "suck my tongue" at a public event.
"A video is circulating showing a recent encounter in which a boy asked His Holiness the Dalai Lama if he could give him a hug," said a statement on the leader's Twitter account, which has 19 million followers on the social network.
"His Holiness wishes to apologize to the boy and his family, as well as to his many friends around the world, for the pain his words may have caused."
The statement said that the Dalai Lama "often teases people he knows in an innocent and playful way, even in public and in front of cameras. He regrets the incident."
The video, which has 1 million views on Twitter, also shows the Nobel Peace Prize winner apparently kissing the boy on the mouth in front of an audience that can be heard clapping and laughing, while a man captures the moment on a cell phone. Reuters has not verified the video.
