The American is accused of sexually abusing two teenagers in the United States. The reward offered for his capture was R$15. Disque-Denúncia reported receiving 42 tips about the case but did not specify the source that led to the criminal. Craig speaks fluent Portuguese. He used drugs, alcohol, and gifts to lure his victims. In Florida, Craig was arrested in a motel in Deerfield Beach in 1998 after being accused of sexually abusing two teenagers under the age of 16. At the time, he allegedly forced the victims to perform sexual acts, and the images were allegedly posted on the internet. In Brazil, he was arrested in 2010 but was released after paying bail. Craig used the name "Eric" and worked as a private English tutor. After failing to appear at a hearing for the second time, he was considered a fugitive.
