247 The Nicaraguan government, led by Daniel Ortega, has launched a serious accusation against Germany, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, and Canada, alleging that these countries have collaborated with Israeli military operations in the Gaza Strip. The document, released on February 1st, threatens to take these nations to the International Criminal Court, also known as the Hague Tribunal, for alleged violations of the Genocide Convention, according to [source missing]. Nicaragua claims that these countries supplied weapons and equipment to Israel, which, according to the statement, facilitated "violations of the Genocide Convention" in the Gaza Strip. The Nicaraguan government demands that these nations immediately cease supplying weapons, ammunition, technology, and/or components to Israel.

Furthermore, Nicaragua criticized the funding cuts to the UN agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA) by the aforementioned countries, following accusations by Israel against agency officials for alleged involvement in the Hamas attack on October 7th. The Nicaraguan government considers this cut as part of a collective punishment of Palestinians and an attempt to force the Palestinian population to abandon the occupied territories, especially Gaza.

This move by Nicaragua comes after its support for the recent complaint against Israel in The Hague Tribunal, filed by the South African government, which accused Benjamin Netanyahu's government of genocide against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. Although the Court did not grant the South African request to end military operations in the enclave, it ruled that Israel must stop hindering access to humanitarian aid in Gaza and adopt measures to prevent acts or incitement to genocide against Palestinians.
