In France, Chinese vice-premier proposes international cooperation for AI development.

247 - China reaffirmed its commitment to the responsible development of artificial intelligence (AI) and international cooperation in the field during the AI ​​Action Summit held in Paris on February 10 and 11. Representing Chinese President Xi Jinping, Vice Premier Zhang Guoqing stressed that Beijing is willing to work with other countries to promote technological advancement in a safe and inclusive manner.

Zhang, who is also a member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, stressed that AI has become an essential driving force in the new scientific and industrial revolution. According to him, China has adopted a "highly responsible" stance in global cooperation and governance of the technology.

The vice premier mentioned the Global AI Governance Initiative, presented by President Xi Jinping in October 2023, as an example of Chinese efforts to contribute solutions to the sector. Zhang called on the international community to adopt AI development principles geared towards good, expanding innovation cooperation and ensuring inclusion and benefit-sharing.

In his speech, Zhang also invited researchers and companies in the sector to participate in the Global Developers Conference 2025, scheduled to take place between February 21 and 23 in Shanghai. The event aims to bring together experts to discuss advances and regulation of AI.

International agreement and meeting with Macron During the summit in Paris, representatives from more than 30 countries and leaders of international organizations signed a Declaration on Inclusive and Sustainable Artificial Intelligence for People and the Planet, establishing guidelines for the responsible development of the technology.

Zhang also met with French President Emmanuel Macron on Monday (10), to whom he conveyed greetings from President Xi Jinping. The vice premier highlighted China's commitment to deepening bilateral relations, especially in the context of the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Macron, in turn, thanked Xi Jinping for sending a special representative to the event and reaffirmed France's willingness to strengthen dialogue and cooperation with China. The French leader stressed the importance of strategic autonomy and Sino-French collaboration in addressing global challenges and ensuring international stability.
