Musk threatens to fire employees who fail to report on their work.
The measure has generated reactions from various sectors of the civil service and raises questions about its legality.
247 - Elon Musk announced this Saturday (22) that all federal employees in the United States will receive an email requesting that they report their activities from the last week.
The announcement was made on his platform, X, which he owns. According to the post, those who do not respond will be considered to have resigned from their position.
"Following instructions from President @realDonaldTrump, all federal employees will soon receive an email requesting that they report what they did last week. Failure to respond will be considered a resignation," Musk wrote.
The measure has generated reactions from various sectors of the civil service and raises questions about its legality and its impact on serving the public.
The move comes after Donald Trump made statements on Truth Social, where he expressed his expectation that Musk would adopt a tougher stance in leading the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
"Elon is doing a great job, but I'd like to see him be more aggressive. Remember, we have a country to save, but even more so, to make it greater than ever. MAGA [Make America Great Again]," Trump stated.
