The UN's International Organization for Migration announced on Saturday, May 18th, that Ghanaian Kofi Annan, former Secretary-General of the United Nations between 1997 and 2006, died at the age of 80; "Today we mourn the loss of a great man, leader and visionary — former UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan," the organization wrote.

According to Reuters reports, citing two people close to the high-ranking official, Annan died today in a hospital in Bern, Switzerland.
"Today we mourn the loss of a great man, leader and visionary — former UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan," wrote the UN International Organization for Migration on its Twitter page.
