Modi expresses India's willingness to contribute to the objectives of Russia's BRICS presidency.

The two leaders intend to closely coordinate approaches across the broader BRICS agenda.

BRICS TV - Russian President Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday (15).

During the dialogue, the Indian politician expressed his country's willingness to contribute to the implementation of the goals and objectives of the Russian BRICS presidency. The two leaders intend to closely coordinate approaches across the association's large-scale agenda. This year, five countries – Egypt, Iran, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and Ethiopia – joined the group.

"We discussed several positive developments in a particularly privileged strategic partnership and agreed to develop a roadmap for future initiatives. We also had a productive exchange of views on various regional and global issues, including the Russian presidency of BRICS."

Furthermore, the politicians discussed key issues in the development of bilateral relations within a particularly privileged strategic partnership. Putin and Modi praised the achievements of cooperation in areas such as trade, economic, scientific and technical cooperation, energy, transport and logistics.

They expressed interest in further strengthening mutually beneficial bilateral ties, according to the Russian president's official website.

The Russian Federation assumed leadership of the BRICS association on January 1, 2024. During its presidency of the bloc, Russia will host more than 200 events across various levels and focuses. The BRICS summit, the year's main event, will be held in Kazan in October.
