Half of the world's students are out of school due to the new coronavirus, says UNESCO.

The pandemic resulting from the spread of the new coronavirus has already left 850 million children and adolescents out of school, according to estimates by UNESCO. According to a statement from the organization itself, the number is expected to continue rising in the coming days.

247 - The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) announced that the pandemic resulting from the spread of the new coronavirus has already left 850 million children and adolescents out of school. The number of students affected corresponds to half of all students in the world.

According to UNESCO, schools and universities have been completely closed in 102 countries, while another 11 have opted for partial closures. As a result, the number of students out of classrooms has doubled in just four days and, according to a statement from the organization itself, is expected to continue rising in the coming days.
