247 - Congresswoman Manuela D'Ávila, the vice-presidential candidate on former president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva's ticket, once again mocked the fanciful creation of Ursal, brought up by presidential candidate Cabo Daciolo during the presidential debate broadcast this week by Band.
"Since I'm in Buenos Aires, I'm going to invite @DiegoAMaradona to be the Minister of Sports of URSAL," Manuela posted on Twitter. Earlier, she said she had invited former Uruguayan president Pepe Mujica to be the president of the Union of Socialist Republics of Latin America – URSAL.
According to far-right websites, Ursal is a kind of plan to unify Latin American countries under communist ideology, eliminating borders and creating a "single homeland." The issue came to light and went viral on social media after Cabo Daciolo accused fellow presidential candidate Ciro Gomes (PDT) of being linked to the Ursal creation plan.
Manuela D'Ávila is in Argentina to participate in the debate "Challenges for the popular and left-wing field in a context of democratic crisis," promoted by the Latin American Council of Social Sciences (CLACSO).
