247 - Hundreds of Malaysians protested this Sunday (26) in Kuala Lumpur against the visit of the President of the United States, Donald Trump, to the summit of the regional bloc, Asean.
According to information from the Hispan TV channel, they took to the streets of the capital to denounce the facilitation of the genocide of the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.
Carrying Palestinian banners and symbols, they demanded justice and chanted "Free Palestine." The protesters also denounced the genocidal military actions of Israel, a US ally, in the Palestinian enclave. The group also demanded sanctions against Israel.
Protesters gathered in Merdeka Square during the afternoon, reported the Sputnik news agency. According to Sputnik, the protesters also chanted slogans against the United States and displayed signs with phrases such as "Down with US imperialism," "Trump, you are not welcome in Malaysia," and "Out with Trump."
Police were present. Initially, the event was scheduled to take place in Ampang Park, near the ASEAN summit, but the area was closed to the public at the last minute, according to Sputnik.
