More than 1 million women take to the streets in Chile in another historic protest.
The largest demonstration on the planet is taking place in the country where neoliberalism has brutally eroded workers' rights under the government of Sebastián Piñera (videos).
247 - In the world's largest demonstration on March 8th, International Women's Day, more than 1 million people took to the streets in Chile, in yet another historic protest in the country.
The Chilean women made history with their actions in 2019, initiating the song and choreography "The Rapist Is You," which has gained versions in dozens of countries. The lyrics denounce the oppression and violence against women in a patriarchal society.
In recent demonstrations against the government of President Sebastián Piñera, women have been victims of rape and arrest. This Sunday, the 8th, the demonstration was also harshly repressed (see videos below).
The country is experiencing a brutal tightening of Piñera's neoliberal policies against workers.
